I am very happy to be able to offer
to your members on behalf of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine a
very advantageous cooperation of both of our societies. In order to increase the
strength of both our organisations, we have decided to offer the members of
national societies, such as yours, the ability to also become members of ESICM
at a reduced price. The conditions for the members of your society would be as
follows:
-A reduced membership fee of EUR 100 per year for three years (instead
of € 185), starting on 1 January 2010 and valid until 31 December
2012.
This reduced membership fee will
contain all of the major advantages of regular membership, including
-Access to the electronic version of
the journal Intensive Care Medicine
through the ESICM and/or the ICM website. (Please note, however, that
no paper version of the journal will be delivered).
-Access to the PACT web-based
learning programme (2nd Edition)
-Free copy of the ESICM year
book
-All other membership benefits such
as discount rates on EDIC board exams and the ESICM Annual Congress (for further
details, please see our website: www.esicm.org).
Please note that these special
conditions are valid ONLY for those members of yours who are currently not yet
ESICM members, NOT for those who are already ESICM members. The advantage of our
offer for you is that it increases the strength of your organization – since
only valid members of your organisation can apply. Moreover, there is no
financial risk for your society, since membership is individual and billed to
each registered member personally, not to the society.
If you agree, we will immediately
start to prepare the required option on our ESICM website. Please note that we
will need to receive confirmation from your office. For any application of one
of your members to ESICM, we will contact your office in order to check that
they are in fact paid members of your society.
It would be extremely helpful if you
could distribute this important information to your members as soon as possible. We
can provide you with material for your newsletters, website and your journal if
